Getting started

• Install the release build for your system (see system requirements below).
• Open any Markdown file from your computer. VDot renders it immediately with the built-in document styles.
• Edit in place if you need to fix a typo or reword a section, then re-render.
• Export to PDF when the document looks right. What you see in the preview is what lands in the PDF.

Exporting a PDF

• Choose Export PDF to open the export preview.
• Set page size (Letter, A4), orientation, and margins to match the document.
• Pick a paper background: warm paper is the default; light and dark-paper options are available.
• Warm One-Page mode combines the document into one continuous page with no page breaks, useful for long reads.
• Confirm the preview, then save. The exported file is written to the location you choose on your own computer.

System requirements

Minimum specs for the VDot desktop app:

• Windows: Windows 10 (64-bit) or later.
• macOS: macOS 11 Big Sur or later, on Intel or Apple Silicon.
• Memory: 4 GB RAM minimum; 8 GB recommended for large documents.
• Disk: about 500 MB of free space.
• CPU: any 64-bit processor from roughly the last ten years.

The standalone single-file build needs only a modern Chromium browser (Chrome, Edge, or Brave from the last few years) and any computer that can run one.

Your files and privacy

VDot opens files from your computer and saves exports back to your computer. Documents are never uploaded anywhere. Full details are in the privacy notice.

How many computers can I use it on?
One license covers you on up to 3 devices at the same time.

Do I need an internet connection?
No. VDot works fully offline after installation.

What happens to my documents if I get a refund?
Your files are yours and stay on your computer. Only the license key is deactivated. See the refund policy.
